Birth, the American Way
Newsweek addresses the birth issue at hand: the fact that one third of babies in this country are delivered by C-section! The article highlights the provocative documentary by Ricki Lake, The Business of Being Born, which Hallie and her sister (i.e. Birth Matters) are bringing to the downtown Fort Wayne library this Saturday. It's a huge issue (as illustrated by the graphic below) that needs addressing. Come to the screening and be amazed!

I just saw it yesterday--really great to see. I was with 2 friends--1 had a hospital birth + epidural that went well, and the other a 50=hour birth center labor that ended w/cascade of interventions & a c-section. And of course I had a home birth. We had a great talk over lunch. (We all brought our babies, of course.)
Speaking of--
We are totally with Miriam that you guys should have a HB at our apartment. I'll watch the kids & cook & John will take the pictures :)
